Hama Tuma

Tuesday 11th October 2016

7:30pm, National Theatre, Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 9PX - all welcome

The Society's book club will discuss The Case of the Criminal Walk and Other Stories by Hama Tuma.

The Case of the Criminal Walk and Other Stories is a collection of short stories by Ethiopian writer Hama Tuma. They are tales of a city on the one hand and that of a nation and a people on the other, where the reality is more astonishing than fiction. Reviews have said they "give a voice to the plight of the ordinary people, tackling the themes of the tragedy of the Ethiopian people as a whole, including corruption and poverty, contrasted with the strength of the human spirit".

The Case of the Criminal Walk and Other Stories is available as a paperback (ISBN 9781598003673).

We will meet in The Long Bar on the ground floor of the National Theatre.

If you would like to attend, or want further information, please email the Book Club.
