2009 marks not only the 300^th birthday of Johnson, but also the 250^th anniversary of the publication of his only novel, The History of Rasselas, Prince of Abessinia.

The evening begins at 6pm at the Samuel Johnson Museum with a celebration of Rasselas and its creation, followed at 8pm at the Lichfield Guildhall by Ethiopia, Land of the Rasselas, an illustrated talk by Jean & John Broadbent.
