Book Club - Kagnew Station

Paul Betit

Tuesday 13th May 2014

7:00pm, National Theatre, Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 9PX - all welcome

The Society's book club will discuss Paul Betit's thriller Kagnew Station. Set in and around Kagnew Station, the US military base in Asmara, during the summer of 1968 where investigation of the mysterious death of a US soldier points to the involvement of a marauding band of rebels.

The author writes from firsthand experience having spent nearly two years at Kagnew Station as an intelligence analyst. There is some very evocative description of the life and landscape of Ethiopia and Eritrea including travel on the Asmara-Massawa railway. Kagnew Station is available in paperback (ISBN 978-0976653301) and in Kindle formats.

We will meet in The Long Bar on the ground floor of the National Theatre.
