Book Club - Ethiopian Reminiscences: Early Days

Richard and Rita Pankhurst

Tuesday 16th May 2017

7:30pm, National Theatre, Upper Ground, South Bank, London SE1 9PX - all welcome

The Society's book club will discuss Ethiopian Reminiscences: Early Days by Richard and Rita Pankhurst.

This is a joint autobiography in which Rita and Richard reveal never before published stories about growing up with unusual and intriguing parents, their meeting at age 31, and the ease with which they adapted to their new country. It provides a unique view of the history of colonialism, travel within Ethiopia, celebrations that range from the grand affairs of royalty to the down-home barbeque of a roasted pig, seemingly ceaseless work, and, most important to Rita and Richard, innumerable deep and life-long friendships.

Ethiopian Reminiscences: Early Days is available as a paperback (ISBN 9781599070599).

We will meet in The Long Bar on the ground floor of the National Theatre.

If you would like to attend, or want further information, please email the Book Club.
