The Horn of Africa Seminar have organised a lecture The security sector and contemporary Ethiopian politics by Sandy Wade.

Colonel Sandy Wade was the British Defence Attaché in Ethiopia 2007 - 2010. After that he was the Military Advisor to the European Union Special Representative to the African Union 2010 - 2013 and then, on retirement from the British Army, Head of the Political Section in the European Union Delegation to Ethiopia.

The Horn of Africa Seminar brings together students and scholars interested in examining the region from a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective. This term, the seminar will look at a variety of issues, including development and security in Ethiopia, Somali identity in Kenya and the dynamics of state evolution in the Horn of Africa.
