The Anglo-Ethiopian Society
Celebration - Adwa Day
Saturday 2nd March 2019
2:00pm to 7:00pm at the Barnsbury Community Centre, 1A Adrian House, Jays Street, London N1 0TY.
This year the Ethiopian History Society in London is proudly holding its seventh annual Ethiopian History Awareness event. You are invited to join them to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of the Victory of Adwa and commemorate the Martyrs' Day of the Italo-Ethiopian War.
Adwa was a great moment in history that not only marked a victory for Ethiopia and Ethiopians in 1896, but for the rest of Africa and Black people all over the world. The day's celebrations are aimed at educating younger generation Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia, of the significance of this pivotal moment in Ethiopian history as well as its importance in Black history.
