The Bodleian has a collection of over 100 manuscripts from Ethiopia and Eritrea. Many of these are beautifully illustrated and written in Ge‘ez, the liturgical language of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Churches.

Members of Ethiopian and Eritrean communities living in the UK have worked together to curate a selection of vibrant and beautiful books produced by this scholarly and devout African culture.

Admission free. No need to book.
