Lecture on Bookbinding

Extreme Bookbinding in Ethiopia - Preserving a manuscript in Ethiopia - Lecture by Lester Capon.

In 2006 British bookbinders Lester Capon and Mark Winstanley visited Ethiopia and carried out some conservation work on the gospels held in Abba Garima monastery in Tigray. These manuscripts have reportedly been dated to the sixth century. Lester will talk about their experiences.
