Exhibition - The Past From Above - Through the lens of Georg Gerster

Captured over 40 years, the evocative aerial photography by Swiss photographer Georg Gerster will take visitors on a tour of five continents.
Objects from the Museum's permanent collection will be included in the exhibition to provide an added insight into the people behind extraordinary locations such as the Great Wall of China, Uluru, Babylon, Teotihuacan and the Uffington White Horse.

Georg Gerster wrote and illustrated the wonderful book 'Churches in Rock' (London, 1970) on the rock churches of Ethiopia. This exhibition includes some of his stunning aerial photographs of Ethiopia.
