Lecture - Building a Climate Resilient Coffee Economy of Ethiopia

Aaron Davis

Wednesday 5th July 2017

7:00pm, Room B102, Brunei Gallery, SOAS, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG - Public lecture (all welcome)

In conclusion to the talk he gave to the Anglo-Ethiopian Society in July 2014, Dr Aaron Davis will present his findings for the project Building a Climate Resilient Coffee Economy of Ethiopia.

In this project a team of scientists from the Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, and partners in Ethiopia, sought to understand in detail the implications of climate change on the coffee economy of Ethiopia, an agronomy sector that provides Ethiopia with around 25% of export income and livelihoods for more than 10 million people.

Dr Davis will also talk more generally about coffee, other coffee-related research projects being undertaken in Ethiopia, and a new publication The Coffee Atlas of Ethiopia.

Dr Aaron P. Davis is Senior Research Leader, Plant Resources, at Kew, London.

Capacity at the venue is limited, so please reserve your place soon to avoid disappointment.
